Our pricing model
At Cartage, we believe in transparency. Our margins are transparent, and we always tell you what the costs of carriers, storage and other vendors are.
We aim for cost+ pricing, but we want to quote you as quickly as possible, so we often quote without knowing what our costs are.
To manage our risk, we offer three types of quotes.
Estimated rate
This is an instant quote based on our internal pricing algorithm. It's guaranteed within ±10%. Once you agree to the quote, we will look for a truck and give you an updated price with a transparent margin.
Book now rate
This is a guaranteed rate that is higher than our estimated rate. This price will not change after booking, regardless of our costs and we will ensure that we find a truck to move your shiipment.
Contracted rate
This is a pre-agreed rate either with you or with our carrier partners. Certain lanes allow us to give you an instant price, while also knowing our costs.
